It is also a typical ingredient in DIY skin care products, as well as shampoos. The fresh leaves irritate the skin, but the “stinging” constituents quickly dissipate when the herb is dried.

Stinging nettle leaves have a mildly bitter flavor. The taste is almost like spinach, with a touch of Italian parsley. Our organic stinging nettle leaves are picked right before the blossoms bloom to deliver the best leaves possible.
Directions
To prepare as a tea, pour 8 oz. boiling water over 1-2 teaspoons of herb. Cover and steep for 5-10 minutes, strain and serve immediately.

In addition to its use as a wellness tea, nettle is popular in shampoos, hair rinses and some skin care products.
